Jeremy Goodwyne is a musical artist born in Oklahoma, raised in Georgia, and living in North Carolina since 2009. As a teenager he split his time between playing in punk rock band and leading youth group music. In college he studied classical guitar, jazz, and choral conducting, while listening to hard core music, writing and performing acoustic singer-songwriter music, and continuing to lead church music. In grad school he studied church music and millennial culture, perfected the cup of coffee, taught guitar lessons and, you guessed it, kept leading church music.
Since 2009 Jeremy has been in Charlotte, NC leading worship at Uptown Church and making as much music as possible. He fronts a 90's alt rock cover band, Brother Watts which plays at breweries and festivals around town. And he has continued to write and perform solo indie folk music locally.
A consummate liturgist and psalmist at heart, he's never been able to escape the pull to leading the worship of the gathered people.
In January of 2024 he teamed up with Nashville producer Jeremy Casella to record an album of original songs and retuned hymns. The album, Firstfruits released on September 13 on all streaming platforms.
